THE EURO AREA - PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES

In the sixth year of crisis in the euro area policy makers have to ask themselves whether they are just confronted with a storm that will eventually pass by or whether they are faced with the economic equivalent of climate change. In his speech, Andreas Dombret will argue that it is indeed structural shortcomings that have contributed to the crisis, and that it requires far-reaching reforms to steer the euro area into calmer waters.
