The implementation of monetary policy is crucial to the effectiveness of monetary policy and, thus, the successful achievement of the central bank’s ultimate objective. The implementation of monetary policy is based on an operational framework comprising a set of monetary policy instruments and procedures that determine much of the day-to-day work of central banks.

This workshop aims primarily to improve understanding of the Eurosystem’s operational framework. It focuses on the role and functioning of the specific procedures applied within the European Monetary Union.
